If you’ve been following our AppLove series, then you’re especially going to love this week’s LTD. by CanvasPop artist!
We’re featuring the awe-inspiring and magical Melissa Vincent print, “Vein of Stars” — get it starting at just $49 for a 12×12″ print. We love how Instagram kickstarted Melissa’s art adventure and asked what inspires her the most:
“Mobile art is my key to wonderland, my fantasy world, my way down the rabbit hole. Instagram started me on the journey. From the beginning, the process of creating a photo on my iPhone was a soul bearing outlet for me. My work is surreal, child like depictions of my every day surroundings and landscapes or other photos of nature. All of my ideas are rooted in the deepest part of the delta. My goal is to paint the South in a magical and positive way through my art.”
Melissa Vincent’s interest in mobile art started in 2011 when she joined Instagram. All of her work is done on the iPhone, proving that mobile photography has a place in the art world. Twice, Melissa’s work was featured on National Geographic online. She has been interviewed and featured by The Huffington Post for her surreal, southern pieces. Melissa’s art was hung in the Animazing Gallery in Soho in March of 2012 and at the Santa Monica Art Studios for the LA Mobile Arts Festival, the world’s largest mobile arts festival to date. Melissa loves driving around the country for hours with music and coffee, and usually a sleeping little boy in the backseat, looking for that perfect shot. Follow her on Twitter and Instagram.
