Sony is catering to the compact camera market in a new, and pretty exciting way! Enter their new QX-series Cyber-shot cameras which will include all of the components of a compact camera, while incorporating your smartphone into the mix by having it act as the screen. This new style of camera will include a zoom lens, a sensor, an image processor, a memory card slot, and control buttons. All of these features are bundled into one convenient extension, that is small enough to fit in your pocket.
Both a QX10 and a QX100 version will be offered. Each will include built in wifi capabilities, so that they can communicate with your smartphone. The app can then be used to compose, review, and edit your photos — pairing the high quality image producing capabilities of the Cyber-shot, with the convenient editing and sharing capabilities of your smartphone.
Both versions of this lens-style camera will be available for purchase by the end of this month. The QX10 will retail for about $248, whole the QX100 will come in at $498.
