We can never get over how many fun, and creative photo series are out there these days! When you really put your heart and imagination behind your art, it’s incredible what you can come up with. We think this whimsical photo series ‘MINIMIAM‘, created by culinary photographers Pierra Javelle and Akiko Ida, is the perfect example of this theory!
Together the talented (and married) duo have constructed a fictional world, made up of sweet and savoury props. They incorporate figurines taken from model train sets, who appear to be going about their regular daily lives in the photos — golfing, labouring, and even walking their dogs!
The couple was inspired by their shared profession, and have been working on the photo series since 2002. It has since expanded to include over 60 sets of diptychs, as well as an upcoming installation at the International Agriculture Show this February in Paris. What do you think of Javelle and Ida’s new take on food photography? Share with us in the comments!
