In the throes of boredom and a spark of inspiration, Swedish artist Stefan Siverud began an artistic series of painting on snail shells. Similar to the art project “Inner City Snail“, this series is titled “Snailpimp” where Siverud creates a wide variety of paintings. Anything from company logos like McDonald’s, Ikea, and Adidas, to volcanoes, lighthouses, and random patterns like camouflage and polka-dot, can be found on the shells. He even went so far as to attach little hats, crowns, or on/off switches to some of his “pieces.”
Plus, there is potentially a good cause within this project. Painting the snails — with non-toxic paint of course — could be helpful for the snails to be more visible to passersby lowering their chances of being stepped on or squished.
