Photographer Sebastian Magnani traveled all across Switzerland to meet with a number of cat lovers and capture the striking resemblance they share with their pets.
The series, which Sebastian dubbed “Undercats”, used Photoshop extensively to showcase a variety of anthropomorphic cats. Throughout Undercats, these furry pets are shown wearing everything from hats to motorcycling gear and even earrings.
To capture the similarities, Magnani would photograph portraits of the furry felines and their owners in the same pose. Once the perfect shots were taken, he would then splice together the head of the cat and body of the owner to create an image that expressed the likeness of the two. The results are hilarious and seem so natural— so it’s no surprise that it took Magnani between 6-8 hours to complete one cat-owner image.
