Description: Pelican in St. Croix
Customer Location: Columbus, OH
Staff pick by: Melissa
Artists Comment: “St. Croix was the last stop on a week long cruise. My husband and I were walking back to the pier to board the ship, trying to soak in every last moment of our week away. As we were walking, I saw this pelican perched on the rusty crane. I stood and watched him preen a bit and then all of the sudden, he stopped and stood in an almost perfect profile, just long enough to snap this photo. After I took the picture, we continued walking back to the boat and never thought twice about it. I think that my favorite part of this photo is that it was completely unplanned and unintentional, but turned out beautifully.”

Title: “Countryside in Western Australia”
Location: Western Australia
Staff pick by: Ben
Artist Comment: “I’m an Aussie living in Vancouver, BC and every time I go home I like to take photographs of my country so that I may remember it when I’m back in Canada. I love it because of it’s colours – they’re so symbolic of the Australian countryside – and the barbwire and caught shirt add dimension and something different to the shot.”

Location: Lake Pleasant, Arizona
Staff pick by: Ben
Artist Comment: “Something about the lines on the road disappearing into the water grabbed my attention and made me wonder if this could possibly lead to the “Lost City of Atlantis”. I spent 20 minutes trying to get the “perfect” shot. I love the way the small waves are breaking above the 2 lane road.”

Title: Sunset Pier
Location: Hermosa Beach, California
Pick by: CanvasPop community (contest winner)
Why do you love it?: We (Elyse and I) both love the canvas piece because Hermosa Beach is where we spend most of our time. A lot of our good memories before and during us dating are in Hermosa Beach. So the Pier is symbolic for that.
