When you hear “What’s Up, Doc?”, who do you think of? That’s easy it’s Bugs Bunny!
A few weeks ago I had the chance to sit down and talk with Jessica Borutski, the artist selected to re-design the original cast of the Looney Tunes for the new Warner Brother’s show premiering this fall on the Cartoon Network…

This fall the Looney Tunes are back on the Cartoon Network, with 26 new half hour episodes with a fresh new look...
“The original Bugs and Daffy are beautiful designs that have been streamlined through the decades at Warner Brothers. So that was a tough one for me to figure out. I wanted to keep all the spirit of the characters without changing them dramatically.” Borutski.
Borutski gave them slightly different proportions that would emphasize things she had always liked about the characters. An example is Bugs’ feet, which were streamlined and made bigger.
Jessica turned to CanvasPop when she wanted to create a canvas picture for a special fan.

Can you spot the changes in this canvas picture?

Here's a sneak peak at a still from the new show....Be sure to catch the 26 new half hour episodes to see the changes

Are you at a loss for gift ideas for your keynote speakers?
The steering committee of WikiSym had this same issue for the 2009 International Conference held inOrlando, FL. Alain Désilets and Robert Biddle of the WikiSym solved this problem by collaborated with Nazim Ahmed and Melissa Edwards of CanvasPop to create this custom canvas word art.

Last year the conference organizers came up with the idea of commissioning an original artwork inspired around the whole idea of “collaboration”. The finished artwork is a word cloud that featured the colors and shape of the conference logo. All of the data was pulled from all papers and presentations ever made at WikiSym!
“The result turned out to be quite stunning and much more visually appealing than an average laminated canvas picture” WikiSym.

Jamie Janx was so impressed with his large format canvas print he just had to share it with everyone! Thanks so much for being the first to submit a photo to the CanvasPop Fan page on Facebook and share your CanvasPop review.
This particular photo was commissioned by one of his clients to print a panoramic landscape on canvas from his latest photographic portfolio and Jamie had this to say about his experience with CanvasPop:
What were you looking for in a large format print lab?
“I’ve been in the industry for many years, some of those years, running a pro photographic lab and was a little worried about:
- The color rendition and
- The general print quality
- The ability to ship oversized pieces to Canada.
“My client wanted the image printed on canvas, stretched at a final size of 4.5 ft wide. I said to myself let’s give CanvasPop a try, the CanvasPop reviews on the’re site are awesome, everybody seems happy with the work, the detailed description of they’re process, and let’s not forget, quality large format printing with shipping to Canada. So I submitted the order online.”
What did Janx think of the finished image printed on canvas?
“Once it got here…WOW! Perfect color rendition and beautiful quality. Not only did CanvasPop print and stretch the canvas, but they also included the hanging wire and the small rubber cushions for the four corners of the print. So simple, out of the box, sign my artwork, place it on the wall. My client was over the top happy. I’m so pleased with the professionalism from all aspects of CanvasPop, I even blogged about my experience. I’ll be printing on canvas a whole lot more now. Thanks CanvasPop!”

Mike Pianka had this to say about his submission "This is a CanvasPop print of a good friend's dog, Murphy. I gave it as a Christmas gift when they first got him and I thought this shot would highlight a nice contrast between what Murphy looks like now compared to when he was only a few months old! Still have to get it on the wall somewhere though. This one is definitely a favorite."

3) Krystal had this to say about her photo! "Our kids posing today next to the CanvasPop that keeps the dream of summer alive. We live in Canada's Yukon Territory and it normally hangs in our living room. This picture was such a hit that we ordered two more as gifts for their grandmothers who both live thousands of miles away."

4) Brandon created this Illustration as an xmas gift for my wife. It was one image converted into a horizonatal triptych.

5) Mike had this to say about his submission "This is a CanvasPop print of a good friend's dog, Murphy. I gave it as a Christmas gift when they first got him and I thought this shot would highlight a nice contrast between what Murphy looks like now compared to when he was only a few months old! Still have to get it on the wall somewhere though. This one is definitely a favourite."

6) David's Story: This photo was taken in NE Utah inside Canyonlands National Park. It's a very popular photo spot. Had to wake up at 5AM and drive 45 min into the park. Fought for my spot amongst 6 other photographers. But to see the intense orange glow under the arch at sunrise was well worth the effort.

8) Ben bought his parents this canvas print from Canvaspop.com for Christmas. The picture was taken around the winter of 08/09 of our dog Molly who passed away last year.

9) Casey took home this scooter from Rome and put it in his basement. He needed more red in his life.

10) Karen took this photo while snorkeling in the Bahamas. She heard a boat motor, looked up & saw this shot. 3 birds on a rock, 3 men in the boat. Now she has this giant canvas on her wall and can relive this moment every time she walks into her bedroom! Love it!!

As part of the Official Launch of CanvasPop last fall, we offered our customers the chance to have their canvas prints displayed on the Reuters billboard in the center of New York City’s Times Square. Each canvas was displayed for 15 seconds on one of the biggest digital billboards in Times Square for more than 1.5 million people to see. (7,400 square feet to be more exact) How cool is that!
A big thanks to all of our first customers who waited so patiently to see their photos displayed in Times Square. Getting everything together for this huge promo took a little longer than we initially expected, but we’re excited to finally share the photos.
Here are just some of the photos of the canvas prints on display in New York’s Times Square!

Today’s customer spotlight section features the canvas pictures created by
Dan K from Maine. Both of his canvas pictures turned out great, but are drastically
different in subject and style. Take a look at pictures and tell us what you think!
Dan tells CanvasPop that the photo of this old truck was taken back in 2003 a
couple of miles from the house his wife grew up in. Her father was a retired potato
farmer from Frenchville, ME and this truck was used to haul potatoes back in the
50’s. It now sits on another potato farmer’s land just adjacent to his.
There is not much to say in regards to a story behind this photo. Dan tells CanvasPop
that it is some sort of bush that flowers each spring in his yard. The colors are very
intense and I took a photo close up of some of the buds.

The photo enlargements we print on canvas for our customers always have a story that we love to hear.
Susan from Atlanta, Georgia shares this touching story about her photo enlargement with CanvasPop. The original photo of this sculpture nicknamed the “The Bean” was taken at the center of the AT&T Plaza in Millennium Park in Chicago, Illinois from a business trip last summer.

Susan chose this particular photo to create a photo enlargement for her husband’s Valentine’s Day gift this year. Seven years ago, her husband Alan had to have a kidney transplant and Susan was lucky enough to be his donor. The Doctors never imagined that she would be a match for him, but she insisted on being tested for compatibility. To all of their amazement, she was a match.
Susan had this to say about their special bond. “The anniversary of our surgery date is always a special day for us and this photo was taken last year on our kidney anniversary day. Since I was out of town on business and we were unable to be together to celebrate – this photo has even a little more meaning!”
What did Alan think of the photo enlargement?
Susan tells us that “Alan loved it! Thought it was the greatest thing! He couldn’t believe that I found a company that could do this. He (like myself) was honored when I read your email to him about CanvasPop wanting to feature it on the blog! …We’ve even started thinking about the next photo we want to have done! I promise – you’ll be hearing from us again!”
Thanks so much to Susan for sharing your story with us. The whole team at CanvasPop is honored that we could create this special photo enlargement for you and your husband.

Do you have Aerial photography you want printed?
Aerial photography is the act of taking photographs of the ground from the air. The image above displays an aerial photograph taken with a telephoto lens that is displayed in our co-founders office.
We have all seen shots of Aerial photography, but have you ever had the chance to fly in a small aircraft over the countryside? For some of us we have not had the opportunity, while others have seized the opportunity to capture some photos up in the air.

Two 18" x 24" Aerial Photos printed on canvas
Anoushka Afonso from New York, NY printed her personal aerial photography on canvas. She tells CanvasPop that the two photos were taken about a year ago while she was flying over the San Francisco area in a small aircraft.
Her camera of choice? A Cannon power shoot camera. You do not have to be a professional photographer or have a DSLR camera to create photos on canvas.
