It’s official! CanvasPop is moving to a new facility. The new location is a super-funky converted factory building. This one has it all. Ultra high 30 ft ceilings, exposed steel beams and concrete. The factory space/building will be separated from the office space by a huge 1o ft x 20 ft steel barn door on sliders. This means we’ll still keep our dedicated production and framing shop close to us while reducing noise (no more mitre saws and nail guns going off in the background when you call customer support
. For us, having our factory and customer support under one roof is critical to maintaining the quality of our products and better serving you, our customer.
Our explosive growth this year has meant we have completely ran out of space. The new facility is three times larger than our existing facility. The new set up will allow us to produce and deliver 500+ pieces a day.
I was on site today and the old gray carpeting has been removed and the 100 year old concrete floor underneath is being polished to high gloss shine.
Still need to hook up the new phone systems, data cables, and move about 2 tons of heavy equipment in. We’re really excited about this new space. Stay tuned! We’ll be posting updates.

When you hear “What’s Up, Doc?”, who do you think of? That’s easy it’s Bugs Bunny!
A few weeks ago I had the chance to sit down and talk with Jessica Borutski, the artist selected to re-design the original cast of the Looney Tunes for the new Warner Brother’s show premiering this fall on the Cartoon Network…

This fall the Looney Tunes are back on the Cartoon Network, with 26 new half hour episodes with a fresh new look...
“The original Bugs and Daffy are beautiful designs that have been streamlined through the decades at Warner Brothers. So that was a tough one for me to figure out. I wanted to keep all the spirit of the characters without changing them dramatically.” Borutski.
Borutski gave them slightly different proportions that would emphasize things she had always liked about the characters. An example is Bugs’ feet, which were streamlined and made bigger.
Jessica turned to CanvasPop when she wanted to create a canvas picture for a special fan.

Can you spot the changes in this canvas picture?

Here's a sneak peak at a still from the new show....Be sure to catch the 26 new half hour episodes to see the changes

Vanishing points are everywhere just waiting to be captured. Yes, they’re everywhere! I came across this photograph which is just one from an amazing collection of vanishing point photography.
The idea of vanishing points actually dates back to the drawings of Renaissance artists Donatello and Masaccio. The vanishing point is a point in a perspective drawing or photograph to which parallel lines appear to converge. For more info visit: Wikipedia—Vanishing Points and explore the the collection of photos.
In your own photo collection have you ever just captured a great perspective shot? Are you just dying to share with others? Why not transform your photo into a custom canvas photo.
With the help of our personal designers, you can transform any photo into your very own custom canvas photo. Get started today by uploading your favorite perspective photo.

Adobe Labs shows us their new “content aware” editing feature that will soon be available as part of Photoshop. This is simply amazing and will change the way photographers and designers will be able to edit images. This amazing demo speaks for itself! Tell us what you think!
Beatriz is shooting a photo a day for a whole year. Each month a different color, this photo was a part of the “purple” month for 365 Days in Color. This particular image was fun and quirky and makes the perfect feature for this today’s featured Post…

Today is about inspiring people and highlighting some great photographers in the Flickr Community. My travels through various photo sets and photostreams have lead me to the stunning photography of Theophilos Papadopoulous. At CanvasPop we have created canvas prints with similar elements, but these particular photos are inspiring.
Theophilos is known for his remarkable sky and water, but I find his use of depth and detail are what really make these photos interesting. Each part of the composition can be looked at and appreciated individually, while working together to create the overall image.
What do you think of these photographs? Do you have a preference and Why?
Can you transform a photo into art? You be the judge. Alexandre Duret-Lutz transforms a this photo to a dynamic image that draws you in… Take a look for yourself.

Today, I have decided to feature a “Thursday Find”. This photo was taken by Nikki Jane and it’s in the original form, no Photoshop was used. This is hard to believe with all the photo editing software on the market. She captured a great shot!
According to Nickki’s Flickr Photostream it was a super nice day out when she first started and then the wind and rain/ hail moved in before the sun appeared again.
Congrats again on spectacular image.
