CanvasPop: Print your photos, art, and more on canvas

By: The Office Stylist

If you haven’t noticed, we are ALL about customizing your work/office space to whatever you wish it to be. That said, the art for your office is no exception and that’s where the folks over at CanvasPop come in.

Upload anything you want to create a print on canvas, in whatever size you want. You can choose from a photo, art, company messaging, logos and in this case, a collage. Upload anything you want to create a print on canvas, in whatever size you want. You can choose from a photo, art, company messaging, logos and in this case, a collage I created. It was beyond easy to place my order on CanvasPop and when the print arrived I was really amazed. It exceeded my expectations, after all how often have I printed something on canvas (the answer would be never)? You can even choose different effects to add to your print and they’ll even send you a proof so you can see what you’re getting.

The photo enlargements we print on canvas for our customers always have a story that we love to hear.

Susan from Atlanta, Georgia shares this touching story about her photo enlargement with CanvasPop. The original photo of this sculpture nicknamed the “The Bean” was taken at the center of the AT&T Plaza in Millennium Park in Chicago, Illinois from a business trip last summer.

Susan chose this particular photo to create a photo enlargement for her husband’s Valentine’s Day gift this year. Seven years ago, her husband Alan had to have a kidney transplant and Susan was lucky enough to be his donor. The Doctors never imagined that she would be a match for him, but she insisted on being tested for compatibility. To all of their amazement, she was a match.

Susan had this to say about their special bond. “The anniversary of our surgery date is always a special day for us and this photo was taken last year on our kidney anniversary day.  Since I was out of town on business and we were unable to be together to celebrate – this photo has even a little more meaning!”

What did Alan think of the photo enlargement?

Susan tells us that “Alan loved it!  Thought it was the greatest thing!  He couldn’t believe that I found a company that could do this.  He (like myself) was honored when I read your email to him about CanvasPop wanting to feature it on the blog! …We’ve even started thinking about the next photo we want to have done! I promise – you’ll be hearing from us again!”

Thanks so much to Susan for sharing your story with us. The whole team at CanvasPop is honored that we could create this special photo enlargement for you and your husband.

Do you have a favorite photo that you want to turn into a personalized photo enlargement?

Falling Up by Nikki Jane.

Falling Up by Nikki Jane.

Today, I have decided to feature a “Thursday Find”. This photo was taken by Nikki Jane and it’s in the original form, no Photoshop was used. This is hard to believe with all the photo editing software on the market. She captured a great shot!

According to Nickki’s Flickr Photostream it was a super nice day out when she first started and then the wind and rain/ hail moved in before the sun appeared again.

Congrats again on spectacular image.

How many times have you let life get in the way and missed your opportunity for autumn photography?  I know I have.

This is just what Chad Galloway set to capture the changing leaves and the fall colors. He tells CanvasPop that he would have not captured the original picture if it had not been for the State Troopers.

You see at first he didn’t even notice this wooded area . A few towns later he ended up getting stopped by the state trooper and having his car towed because the insurance card in his car had expired. Even with valid insurance, he had no way of proving this. Chad ended up spending the night in a small town in the middle of nowhere.

The next day and hundreds of dollars later he was able to get his car back. He started heading back home and was in no mood to take pictures.

"The forest was so dense and the vegetation was so bight. I had to stop and take a few pics no matter how bad I felt. I’m kinda glad it worked out the way it did though because I probably never would have got this pic, if I hadn’t been pulled over" Galloway

Chad did not set out in search of the perfect photo that day and ending up printing fall photos on canvas.  You never know when you might capture your next  picture for a canvas enlargement.

What is silhouette photography? You do not have to be a professional photographer to capture great shots. Simply keep these three things in mind when setting up your shot:

1) A Strong Subject- Choose something with recognizable and distinct shapes.
2) Lighting- Light subjects from behind, placing them in front of the sunrises or sunset.
3) Shape- Create separate shapes so they are distinct and uncluttered.

Check out this great guide on how to photograph silhouettes by Digital Photography School.

This photograph by Todd Austin follows the three guidelines with stunning results.
