When you hear “What’s Up, Doc?”, who do you think of? That’s easy it’s Bugs Bunny!
A few weeks ago I had the chance to sit down and talk with Jessica Borutski, the artist selected to re-design the original cast of the Looney Tunes for the new Warner Brother’s show premiering this fall on the Cartoon Network…

This fall the Looney Tunes are back on the Cartoon Network, with 26 new half hour episodes with a fresh new look...
“The original Bugs and Daffy are beautiful designs that have been streamlined through the decades at Warner Brothers. So that was a tough one for me to figure out. I wanted to keep all the spirit of the characters without changing them dramatically.” Borutski.
Borutski gave them slightly different proportions that would emphasize things she had always liked about the characters. An example is Bugs’ feet, which were streamlined and made bigger.
Jessica turned to CanvasPop when she wanted to create a canvas picture for a special fan.

Can you spot the changes in this canvas picture?

Here's a sneak peak at a still from the new show....Be sure to catch the 26 new half hour episodes to see the changes

Vanishing points are everywhere just waiting to be captured. Yes, they’re everywhere! I came across this photograph which is just one from an amazing collection of vanishing point photography.
The idea of vanishing points actually dates back to the drawings of Renaissance artists Donatello and Masaccio. The vanishing point is a point in a perspective drawing or photograph to which parallel lines appear to converge. For more info visit: Wikipedia—Vanishing Points and explore the the collection of photos.
In your own photo collection have you ever just captured a great perspective shot? Are you just dying to share with others? Why not transform your photo into a custom canvas photo.
With the help of our personal designers, you can transform any photo into your very own custom canvas photo. Get started today by uploading your favorite perspective photo.

Are you at a loss for gift ideas for your keynote speakers?
The steering committee of WikiSym had this same issue for the 2009 International Conference held inOrlando, FL. Alain Désilets and Robert Biddle of the WikiSym solved this problem by collaborated with Nazim Ahmed and Melissa Edwards of CanvasPop to create this custom canvas word art.

Last year the conference organizers came up with the idea of commissioning an original artwork inspired around the whole idea of “collaboration”. The finished artwork is a word cloud that featured the colors and shape of the conference logo. All of the data was pulled from all papers and presentations ever made at WikiSym!
“The result turned out to be quite stunning and much more visually appealing than an average laminated canvas picture” WikiSym.

Do you have a photo in mind for canvas prints?
As part of the Official Launch of CanvasPop last fall, we offered our customers the chance to have their canvas prints displayed on the Reuters billboard in the center of New York City’s Times Square. Each canvas was displayed for 15 seconds on one of the biggest digital billboards in Times Square for more than 1.5 million people to see. (7,400 square feet to be more exact) How cool is that!
A big thanks to all of our first customers who waited so patiently to see their photos displayed in Times Square. Getting everything together for this huge promo took a little longer than we initially expected, but we’re excited to finally share the photos.
Here are just some of the photos of the canvas prints on display in New York’s Times Square!

Today’s customer spotlight section features the canvas pictures created by
Dan K from Maine. Both of his canvas pictures turned out great, but are drastically
different in subject and style. Take a look at pictures and tell us what you think!
Dan tells CanvasPop that the photo of this old truck was taken back in 2003 a
couple of miles from the house his wife grew up in. Her father was a retired potato
farmer from Frenchville, ME and this truck was used to haul potatoes back in the
50’s. It now sits on another potato farmer’s land just adjacent to his.
There is not much to say in regards to a story behind this photo. Dan tells CanvasPop
that it is some sort of bush that flowers each spring in his yard. The colors are very
intense and I took a photo close up of some of the buds.
